What a find! Happened to be staying right beside Romano’s and tried their sandwiches at lunch - they were fantastic. So good, in fact, that we came back for dinner the next day. The food, service, and atmosphere were all on point. It’s family-run, and you can tell they care and take pride in their craft. Quality ingredients and authentic taste, especially the carbonara.
Highly recommend Romano’s if you’re in Cornwall!- Meal type

We stopped off for a coffee and pastry with our kids on our way for a wander. Staff could not have been more friendly, going out of their way to interact with our kids. Coffee was great, and the pastries delicious! We enjoyed it that much, we went back for a take away lunch!

Romano’s is both heart and soul. You honesty couldn't go wrong being around there all day. I highly recommend going for a morning coffee & desert to start the day. We had dinner there, and the Cacciucco monkfish stew was incredible. 10/10

We stopped by Romanos for lunch and were really impressed. The paninos were excellent — fresh, generously filled, and clearly made with good-quality ingredients. The staff were genuinely friendly and took the time to explain what was in everything, which was a nice touch. It’s a relaxed little place with a lot of care put into what they serve. Would happily come back next time we’re in Carbis Bay.

We popped in whilst on holiday, as we had seen adverts for this place. We were not disappointed. A hidden gem, with wonderfully friendly staff and fabulous produce. We bought some meats, cheeses and pastries etc. They were all delicious. Fresh croissants from the oven on our 2nd visit before we came home. They do have a few tables for you to eat in and are a restaurant in the evenings. With charcuterie boards, etc. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Carbis Bay in September, hopefully eating in then, too. If you love Italian food, you're in for a treat.- Service

We had breakfast here both days we stayed in carbis bay, and we only wished it was closer to home! Authentic little italian cafe with proper coffees and a wide selection of pastries. My partner had the chocolate filled croissant, and I had the pistachio one day and the apricot the other. All equally amazing. There was a large selection of italian pastries on offer with a good variety of foccacia style sandwiches on at lunch time. If we're down in Cornwall again, we'll definitely make a visit down just for this cafe!- Service

Such a fabulous little Italian gem hidden in Carbis bay. We visited today for a late lunch as a family of four, including one toddler, all left very full. A true taste of Italy. Great food & drink menu selection, ran by a lovely family. The cafe also has an Italian market with fresh produce and Italian classics such a pasta to purchase. Highly recommend a visit!

Brilliant Italian café/ delicatessen/ wine bar in Carbis Bay. The pastries were delicious especially the pistachio and hazelnut. Quality coffee. Plenty of Italian food. Good value too. Nearly made the mistake of going to Costa. Thank God I found this local gem. Run by long haired surfer dudes who driver yellow beetles with obligatory surfboard on top. Buenossimo!

MAY 24 //
Truly wonderful! What a great place to grab some excellent coffee and some excellent Italians snacks! The bread, meats and cheeses are delicious, with the bresaola being such high quality and genuinely gorgeous - the pesto is divine too! It’s a friendly and cosy place, full of life, passion and atmosphere. The owners and staff are very chatty and lovely people, and with attentive and smiley service, the whole experience is thoroughly enjoyable. There’s a load of Italian pantry staples and fresh goods on offer as well, alongside the bakes and pastries. It’s an all round cafe experience and a must visit.
Can’t wait to go back on an evening to try some wine and (given the quality of the food at breakfast/ lunch) most definitely some Italian cooking😁
JUNE 24 //
We returned for the evening and boi we are glad we did! Exquisite Italian cooking, family and home-style but executed with refinement and class. A seafood pizza that was sensational and sausage rigatoni that blew our socks off with the delicate aniseed flavour of fennel, but the star of the show was the charcuterie board, magnificent! For such a great price I genuinely don’t think I’ve been anywhere for better value and service!- Service

My daughter and I were fortunate enough to have stayed in walking distance to Romano's on our yearly holiday in Cornwall.
On our 1st day the family kindly put us together a beach picnic a mixture of beautiful meats, cheeses, olives and fresh salt and pepper bread. It was utterly sublime!!!!!!
The cakes and pastries are sensational. The flourless chocolate cake an indulgent Italian type brownie cake it knockout. Other favourites were orange polenta cakes, rhubarb tart and lemon tart. My daughter loved the pistachio croissants!
Fresh produce! My daughter favoured the fresh figs, peppers, strawberries and peaches. I bought vine tomatoes, capers, anchovies and pasta to make puttanesca.
Antipasto is fabulous. Coffee is divine.
This place is special. It was a pleasure to enjoy and teach my daughter about good quality food. We miss it!!! Can’t wait to return next year. Thank you for adding such experience and quality food and drink to our special holiday! X- Service

We stayed at an AirBnB not too far from here, our host recommended coming here. The coffee was exceptional here as were the sandwiches. Reminded us of a coffee/deli that closed in our town and was also excellent. Staff were very friendly. The sandwich choice was very good, well filled and lots of flavour! Would highly recommend!

An absolute gem! This has captured the heart of the Italian Trattoria… great food in the heart of community. Everyone is made to feel welcome and the food makes you leave feeling grateful. Excellent options on the wines… Italian of course, and the coffee is a rich chocolatey classic IT bean too… what’s not to like? We will be back! (Try the truffle pecorino 🥰)
